Which cities have the best nightlife in Montenegro?

While Montenegro has always prided itself on its abundant and diverse landscapes, from numerous beaches stretching along the Adriatic coast to its interior mountainous regions rich in wildlife and history, that is not all this tiny Balkan country has to offer. A vibrant nightlife scene is the other side of Montenegro that caters to its younger generations of locals and tourists.

If your idea of a perfect summer vacation involves partying from dusk to dawn, rest assured that Montenegro has just what you need. Whether it is a music festival, late-night club, or casual bar, any visitor will find something that suits their needs, and most importantly-by car you can reach everywhere in a few minutes to half an hour.

1.   Podgorica – The First Stop

Although it is the country’s capital, Podgorica may not be the first choice to visit when making an itinerary for your trip to Montenegro, mainly because of its distance from the sea. Despite this fact, the city has quite a few hidden gems that make it a great choice for party enthusiasts. 2.   Budva – The Party Capital

If an energetic night out in Podgorica didn’t satiate your thirst for a good party, you should head southwest to Budva, a small, but lively coastal city that is the youth’s favourite summer destination. It is renowned for its utmost nightclubs that attract party lovers from all over the world. Drive to these places and you will enjoy it for sure:

  • Top Hill – This urban nightclub can host several thousand people and is one of the most visited in the region. With its unique and diverse programme, it serves as a venue for world famous DJs, local artists, as well as numerous Balkan superstars. It is located on a hill just outside of Budva, hence the name. Just a short taxi drive away and you will have an opportunity to have a whale of a time, all whilst enjoying breathtaking views of the city lights reflecting into the Adriatic Sea.
  • Omnia – A spot located in the downtown area. With its convenient location, this club draws tourists and locals to its dance floor throughout the summer season. It doesn’t matter if you are a longtime fan of or just getting into contemporary turbo-folk beats this is a great spot for you.
  • Ambiente -Another trendy location to enjoy your night while dancing to DJs playing hip-hop, pop, and turbo-folk.

 

There is more to Budva than meets the eye because its dazzling nightlife doesn’t end with upscale nightclubs. If you go for a stroll around Old Town or Budva Riviera you will stumble upon many bars and restaurants that offer both great dining and entertainment.

Another reason to go on vacation to Budva in the hot summer months is daytime parties. Beaches around the city are jewelled with great beach bars, a buzzing social scene and great atmosphere. Jaz Beach is a prime example, and Ploce Beach is a popular spot to attend foam parties.

 

3.   Tivat  – A Gatsby-like Party in Montenegro

Located at the very entrance to the Bay of Kotor, Tivat is a prestigious summer destination, particularly owing to Porto Montenegro. Certainly, it is a change of scenery compared to Budva, and you may think Tivat is not especially keen on nightlife. However, fine dining restaurants, upscale lounges, and luxurious nightclubs can be enjoyed during your stay there.

Having such a reputation has drawn many experienced and world-famous chefs and mixologists to Tivat, and the experience of fine dining is almost guaranteed. 4.   Kotor – Where History Meets Nightlife

Kotor is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the heart of the Bay of Kotor, rightfully named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a perfect choice for those who want to feel like they have traveled back in time, while still enjoying modern means of entertainment.
